McCook Public Power District will be taking applications for an Operations Manager.
RESPONSIBILITY: The primary responsibility of this position will be to manage the Operations Department, carry out programs in line construction, operation, and maintenance of plant facilities. To ensure continuity of electrical service throughout the system. Develop system improvement plans and budgets for the Operations Department. Provide the General Manager with progress reports.
SKILLS: Must possess the ability to effectively supervise and direct Operations Department employees, communicate and work with all other District departments. Must have a demonstrated ability to effectively exercise line and functional (staff) authorities.
QUALIFICATIONS: Two-year technical degree is desirable; emphasis in electrical technology and line construction. Closely related and progressive job experience and specialized vocational training may substitute for part of the education requirements. Ten years of operations work with an electric utility is required for consideration. Minimum of three years supervisory experience is desired.
WAGE: This is a salaried position and wage will depend on experience and qualifications.
