Engineering Manager

McCook Public Power District will be taking applications for an Engineering Manager.


RESPONSIBILITY: The primary responsibility of this position will be to manage the Engineering Department, carry out programs in line construction design, hazard material management and recordkeeping, staking, mapping, substation management, and warehouse and stores management. To ensure continuity of electrical service throughout the system. Develop system improvement plans and budgets for the Engineering Department. Provide the General Manager with progress reports.


SKILLS: Must have a demonstrated ability to effectively exercise line and functional (staff) authorities. Must be able to develop and effectively administer the District's practices and procedures for the engineering design and inspection work required for continuity of service.


QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree with emphasis in electrical engineering is preferred. Minimum of five years of work experience with an electric utility and GIS applications required. Demonstrated supervisory experience for a minimum of one year is desired. Closely related progressive job experience and specialized training may substitute for the education requirement.


WAGE: This is a salaried position and wage will depend on experience and qualifications.
