Description
The Buffalo Commons Storytelling and Music Festival planning committee in collaboration with McCook Community Kitchen will present Jody Wood as featured speaker for their First Tuesday event March 3 from 7 – 8 pm at The Scoop (305 West 10th).
Wood has traveled across the United States and around the world collecting folk remedies and recipes that can be used as creative insurance for those lacking conventional nutritional or medical services. It is her belief that what works in one geographical area may have the mobility to be successful in other locations. Her presentation will share some of the social pharmacy remedies she has discovered but she also hopes to gather ideas about what works in southwest Nebraska. Those stories will be used when she returns in September for a Know-How project with McCook Community Kitchen.
Anyone who is curious about the project, has a remedy or recipe to share or just wants to listen is encouraged to attend. Ice cream and baked treats will be available for purchase.
